We invite you to Sailors’ Parliament No. 29 with Iranian-American author, publicist, and historian Dr. Arash Azizi. The event will be held in English.The long-standing tension between Israel and Iran, along with its proxies, has escalated into a dangerous conflict that threatens the security of the entire region. The Israeli public is on edge, its leaders are issuing direct and indirect threats, and it seems their eyes are set on the next round of confrontation. In his latest book, "What Iranians Want", Dr. Azizi explores the inner workings of Iranian society, its composition, and its complexities. We will hear from him about the sentiments of the Iranian people, their aspirations, and their views on Israel.This is the second meeting in the Holy Grail – Iran series. In the first meeting, we hosted former Mossad Director Tamir Pardo. In the upcoming event, we will host Dr. Azizi, and in the third meeting, on March 13, we will host former National Security Council head Eyal Hulata.Our goal is to understand how two nations—Israel and Iran—that were friendly and trade partners in the 1970s, despite sharing no border, became sworn enemies. We will examine the roots of hostility, the interests at play, the development of the conflict, and whether anything can be done about it.The discussion will be co-moderated by Yedioth Ahronoth’s journalist and Arab affairs analyst, Smadar Perry.
